Cycling (and even walking) infrastructure. It’s contentious. It’s somehow complicated. It’s apparently expensive (compared to roads?!?). It’s going to devastate the local businesses. It’s going to increase traffic congestion. Ok, so I know the politics behind how we use our roads can be frustratingly ridiculous, but what I find to be the most difficult thing to wrap my head around is how people believe that cycling infrastructure is difficult to produce. Either physically, or financially. It can be cheap as well as easy. And how do so many believe that a painted cycle lane is anything like appropriate? Below is a short video to address all of the above cases.
Oh, can’t get it done in your city because you don’t have the room? *Ahem* Might I introduce you to a little place I like to call London?
Happy weekending. Go ride your bike.
